Karen Simmons is the parent of six children, ages 10 to 20, two of whom have special needs.

She is the founder and CEO of the internationally recognized Autism Today© non-profit organization, established in 1998, one of the world’s leading resources for all special needs, both online and at numerous conferences and events worldwide.
Karen is also the author of four celebrated books, including her re-released survivior’s story, Surrounded by Miracles. Currently based in Alberta, Canada, Karen is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada, which gives her and her organization a uniquely expansive network with the special needs community worldwide.
